Passing Strange
Native Vermonter, novelist, and public radio commentator, Joseph A. Citro has done a lot to keep New England's history and folklore alive in the popular culture. His twelve books include five novels of suspense, three volumes of historical oddities, a collection of regional humor, two travel guides, and a co-edited book of essays. Joseph is also the author of the bestselling WEIRD NEW ENGLAND, a mammoth collection of Yankee strangeness.
Joe shared numerous stories of New England that included Men in Black(MIB), Elm Street, two stories of water sprouting up in home with no apparent source, and more.
During the second hour of the show we played a 20 minute speech given by JFK to the American Newspaper Publishers Association on April, 27 1961. Olav Phillips then joined us to give his thoughts on what might have been the underlining theme of this speech, conspiracies and secret societies.
