The Shroud of Turin
Barrie Schwortz was the Official Documenting Photographer for the Shroud of Turin Research Project, the team that conducted the first in-depth scientific examination of the Shroud in 1978. He still continues his research today doing lectures and using the latest imaging technology.
Barrie discussed some of the controversy over the authenticity of the Shroud from the 1978 STURP (Shroud of Turin Research Project) examination, carbon dating and the restoration done in 2002. He stated that even those who are believers of the Shroud's history have some of the facts wrong.
Even being raised as an Orthodox Jew, after spending time examining the Shroud and through his research, Barrie is convinced the Shroud is authentic. Will we ever be able to tell it was used to wrap the body of Jesus? Probably not but the evidence is there to suggest it as being very likely.
