The Mayan Calendar

Best-selling author Steve Alten joined the show to discuss the mysteries behind the Mayan Calendar and the infamous date, December 21, 2012. The prophecies of the Mayan have been topics of debate for as long as they have been discovered. Steve gave insight into what it all means for the human race today and in the future.

Steve gave a brief summary of what the Mayan culture was. He said that all of their technology and knowledge came from a wise man described as being Caucasian with long white hair and beard. He was called Kukulcam.

Steve discussed the sophisticated workings of the Mayan Calendar and how it was made up of different calendar each having a separate time system. More detail was given on the Long Calendar and how it was made up of Katuns that lasted 20 years each. Steve gave up some examples of past Katuns and described the one we are currently in.
