DNA Testing for the Lost Colony
Fred Willard joined us again along with Roberta Estes and Charles to talk about the DNA Symposium that will be taking place September 7th thru September 9th.
The Lost Colony Center for Science and Research will be using a combination of DNA testing and genealogy in hopes of answering the question of what happened to the Lost Colony of Roanoke Island. Did they parish or were they assimilated into the Native American population?
Roberta discussed the process in which DNA testing is done and how it relates to the hope in locating the descendent of the Lost Colony.
Fred shared his excitement over find more surnames and gave a run down of what will be going on at the symposium through out the weekend.
Charles discusses his role in the research of coastal Native Americans for the Lost Colony Center for Science and Research and what this step in answering the question of what happen to the colonist meant to him.
